We run a cultural enrichment programme which will deliver a series of activities including learning to play musical instruments, poetry, song, and other world performance arts to bring different parts of the community together. The plan is to hold weekly sessionswhich will engage people from different, ethnic, age and gender background to come together and learn about different people and their diverse cultures through the various mediums of performance arts. The group will be encouraged to learn, play, and perform together. We also hope to conclude with an end of event presentation.
We have a team of experienced professionals, DBS checked, who are experienced in both community development work as well as performance media production.
Through the sharing of different cultural activities, we will bring people from different communities together. Peoplewill congregate in the same physical (online if covid dictates) space, as well as learn about different people(s) and their diverse backgrounds. We will encourage people to learn about their own cultural heritage and well as sharingthis with others.
We recognise that many people for the more deprived communities we work with are not able to learn to play an instrument or generally engage widely in the arts. We would like to encourage the take up of these activities to give more young people the opportunity to pursue the arts as a realistic and viable career option. We also feel that the activities will act as a deterrent to anti social behaviours.
We feel that our activities will help people, especially younger people to manage their anxieties and general mental wellbeing better.
